Adrian Ryan (1944 - 1998)

Adrian was educated at Eton and then attended the Slade. He went on to teach at Goldsmith’s College in 1948 and also taught at the Cambridge College of Art. He lived in Mousehole, Cornwall from 1945 – 51 and then again in 1959-1965 and is associated with the St.Ives School.

His friends were Peter Lanyon, Patrick Heron and Sven Berlin and he took part in the last Crypt Group exhibition, St.Ives.
He painted landscapes of Cornwall, France and Suffolk and was particularly attracted to still life.
