Mark was born in Derby in 1976 to a well known artistic family. He studied illustration at Anglia University in Cambridge but it was sketching and painting trips to the Peak District, Cornwall and Scotland that inspired him to become a landscape painter.

Mark paints in acrylics and works mainly in situ enabling him to build up an understanding and awareness of the places he paints with the changing Seasons and weather affecting the places that fascinate him.

Mark has been having one-man shows in Derbyshire and Cornwall with exceptional success in recent years.
