Mike Bernard (1957 - ongoing)

Mike was born in Dover in 1957. He has a BA in fine art and undertook post graduate studies at the Royal Academy Schools, London and was later elected to the Royal Institute of painters in watercolours.

He taught art and then ran private courses in painting and has exhibited his work widely and has won many awards, many from the Royal Academy.

Mike now paints almost exclusively in mixed media, combining collage, acrylics and pastel enjoying the textures, shapes and colours that this produces. His favourite subjects are harbour, market and street scenes.

Mike lives in Devon and many of his subjects are in the nearby County of Cornwall.
