Stephanie Axtell (1971 - Ongoing)

Stephanie Axtell was born in Cornwall in 1971. She studied illustration at Falmouth School of Art and Design. She then spent 16 years illustrating books, magazines, greeting cards and packaging.

Walks and experiences of her home, Cornwall, collections of found treasures and flowers, provide inspirational momentum to her paintings. Stephanie arranges decorative objects in the foreground of her work with charm and sensitivity, which lends them a nuance of intuitive belonging. Her tonal dexterity and choice of engaging content, leaves the onlooker with a harmonious and pleasing sensation of inclusion.
